Video Conference Calls - The future of business!

Conference calling has been popular in business for a number of years now. It’s popularity is primarily due to its ease of use, cost effectiveness and benefits to global business. Pretty much all companies will use conference calling at some point, whether it is to simply speak with their other offices around the country, deal with multiple clients at the same time around the globe or to simply have a 3 way informal chat with between board members. Whatever its use, it is a service that will be around for a long time to come.

A conference call service that is becoming increasingly popular is video call conferencing. As the name suggests, this involves streaming a video of the individuals participating in the call to all parties, as well as the usual call audio. Video conferencing is popular as it grants the parties the ability to use visuals during their discussion as opposed to the audio only conference calls of the past. Most video conferencing takes place over VoIP or the Voice Over Internet Protocol, mainly due to its ability to stream large amounts of data at a next to nothing price. Most third party conferencing services now offer VoIP and Video Conferencing as part of a package with traditional conference call services making such technology accessible to pretty much anyone.

Technology Help Desk Support Quality

I often make use of various technologies from a wide range of technology companies and more often than not, that also involves speaking with the IT help desk, normally when something goes wrong but on occasion, just to ask a question on a product I am reviewing or trialing for one of my websites.

One thing I have noticed, over the past couple of years especially, is the level of support provided by the support desk of the various technology companies out there. In short, they’ve improved greatly, this might be simply down to better training, more highly educated individuals but I think most of it is due to help desk outsourcing. Technology companies are making huge savings be locating their help desk services outside of their core operation and more often that not, this leads to an overall better quality of service.

If you just happen to run a business that offers a particular amount of after sales support, give outsourcing a try. It’ll free up your staff to work on other things and you’ll probably find it cheaper too!

Calling Canada Just Got Cheaper

We are often having to phone our web hosting support in Canada and the costs just keep getting higher and higher. I am sure we pay as much in support calls as we do in hosting fees sometimes. We are obviously relatively well clued up on phones, mobiles and telecommunications in general but cheaper calls - worldwide is just one thing we can never seem to get right. But, with that said, we have just purchased some canada calling cards from NobelCom and we must say that the savings we have made within the first week has already paid for our hosting this month!

It’s not just Canada you can save money on calling. NobelCom international calling cards, as the name suggests, can be used for a wide range of countries. In fact, you can also buy calling cards that are designed to specifically call a designated country. So if you need to call clients, customers, support or even your friends and family back home, it’s definitely worth considering.

We appreciate that to some of you telecoms guys, a calling card might be a bit of a burden but with the pinless dialing and automatic recharge features, it’s just as easy as using the change in your pocket for a payphone.

Sometimes we need more than mobiles!

I know that the vast majority of my readers are mobile phone enthusiasts, which is great, we are too…but when are we going to get cheaper International calls? I know I personally make a huge amount of calls to the US, Canada and often Australia and my mobile phone bills are absolutely horrendous. So, what is the answer to this? Well, we think we have found it - calling cards. That’s right, calling cards. I know the avid mobile phone users might be cringing at the thought of this but seriously, I have yet to find a cheaper way to call foreign countries. I have been searching for some time to find the lowest international calling card and there are numerous options out there that come with great features. My personal favourite, especially being an mobile phone enthusiast is the pinless dialing calling card. Mainly due to the fact that it is just like making a normal call from my mobile, literally no hassle but much, much cheaper.

The next time you’re calling abroad, make a note on how much that call costs you and try the same call with a calling card. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised with the savings!
